Week 6: Hello from Ireland

We’ve made it to the Emerald Isle! Its been a bit of a slow start as we took some time to re-provision and catch up on laundry - the less glamorous but necessary side of travel.

The absolute highlight of the week has been our incredible stay at Crotty’s Lake Campsite. Bernard, the owner, greeted us with a warm Irish welcome. When he spotted our off-road vehicle, he grinned and said,”Have I got a campsite for you!” True to his word, he directed us to a stunning spot on the boundary of his property, high up on the mountain. The view was breathtaking.

We hiked up to crotty’s lake- picture-perfect and so still. Had the best night’s sleep and woke up to the sound of a cuckoo bird - absolute magic.

Next, we’re heading off to explore the Wild Atlantic Way a 2500 km route along Ireland’s rugged west coast. Can’t wait to see what adventures lie ahead!
